Best Margarita Recipe Ever (Really Good for Lazy People)
Best Margarita Recipe Ever
This recipe comes from my mom. I think she got it from one of the Sweet Potato Queens books. They have some great recipes in their book Sweet Potato Queens’ Big-Ass Cookbook (and Financial Planner).
In a pitcher, combine
- 12 oz bottle Corona Extra (not Light)
- 12 oz frozen limeade concentrate
- 12 oz 7 Up (not diet! measure with the limeade can)
- 12 oz tequila
Don’t you DARE wrinkle your nose at me until you have tried it, hon. Many folks assume that it must be awful if you’re mixing beer and 7 Up. But I will assure you, I lived in Texas for eight years and had many a margarita. These are fabulous.
I sometimes have to cut back on the tequila a bit–especially if I’m expected to parent as I drink. I find these are best if you mix them and let them sit in the fridge a few hours for the fizz to wear off. Even better the next day as left-overs. And I usually hate left-overs. Enjoy!

I remember when you first gave me this recipe when you lived here down yonder. I wrinkled my nose y’all, but now I am a true believer in these ‘ritas and have served these to many a wrinkled nosed snoot since then and made believers out of them too. In addition to the tequila, I add a little Grand Marnier or other orange liquer. YUM-O. *hiccup*
